There are things that happen in the universe that we simply can’t explain. The stars light up, the planets align and create a moment so beautiful and perfect that it can hardly be matched or duplicated. For that moment, all things that seemed impossible are possible, and anything and everything happens in glorious synchronicity. Sometimes it takes a few people, or just one to harness this power and change the world.

One such man from our noble Guard led the charge. He had a dream -nay!- A vision of something  pure and he harnessed the energy of perfection and crafted with great care what would be a test among friends. A test of courage, tenacity, pure nerve and creative thinking. As he finished, he looked down upon his creation, satisfied, he turned outwards and bellowed; “LET THE GAMES BEGIN!”

On the eve of the first day of 2011, GrantClaunch brought to us the First Annual Sword and Shield Gaming Halo Olympics.

Here contains the chronicles of these sacred games, forged by his own hand:

As the torch was lit the contestants came, utilizing only a controller and guts. In the end, great fun was had by all.

Sadly, I was not among these brave Knights and friends among these games, but I’m sure this will be the first Games of many in the years to come!

Of course this is not all that Sword and Shield Gaming has to offer for good games and fun. There is always Monday Knight Halo to look forward to, and Wednesday Knight Black Ops. Why don’t you stop on by and take a look around?

>The Gates are Open <

We look forward to seeing you.

Another MKH went down in the books last night.  The collective group decided to play mixers all night, so we got the chance to fight against our own all night.  If you participated last night, we thank you and I know you had fun.  If you missed it don’t worry, we’ve got screen shots and videos to get you up to speed.

So you think you can dance?

Almost.

Friends over at The UNSC Spirits of Fire have decided to gun for Marissa’s Bunny in a tournament designed to help raise money to fight Infantile Spasms.

From the FLAG tournament and Bungie’s own Haiti Heart fund, we know there is hardly a better way to raise money for important causes than blowing up your friends. There is an adorable bunny to boot.

All the information you need can be found >>In their Specially Designed Forums<< but for the ‘get to the point’ gamers, here are the quick details;

Tournament Starts: Sat, Dec. 4th @ 3pm EST and is set to run through Sun, Dec. 5th

* The cost is $10 per person- $20 for 2v2 team, $40 for 4v4 team

PRIZES:

  • First Place:
Alan Wake game for Xbox 360
Halo REACH Nov 30th DLC “Noble Map Pack”
    Halo Mega Bloks large set
  • 2nd Place:
    REACH Tee
    Halo Mega Bloks small set
  • 3rd Place:
    McFarlane Halo Mini helmets pack
    Gamer Grub snack packs”

The How To’s and finer points of registering for the tournament can be found on their >>Super Forums<<  but I’d say that’s a generous offering.

Grab a team or two or three and give to a great cause and perhaps snag some great swag in the process. Indeed I’d say that’s a win/win situation. If you find yourself unable to fight, then at least spread the word.

SSG will be doing our best to fight for the cause and share the news.

See you on the field.

Another Monday Knight Halo (MKH) is in the books and what a great turn out.  We had around 20 people turn out for MKH this week, spread out through 3-4 parties through-out the night.  My group kicked off the night with a Forge map made by our own DarkStrobeLight, Hyper Cube.

Hyper Cube is a map set on 45• angles, and will throw you off for the first few seconds till you get your “sea legs”.

Thanks to all that joined for this week’s MKH, and be sure to sign up for next week.  Head to our Pre-Game Lobby forum and look for the signup soon.

Looking for fun and excitement like this? Head on in to Camelot.

In the past few weeks leading up to Halo: Reach TTL has used some of their clout to to spread propaganda about the GGN to the unaware gamers of the Halo Nation. This propaganda is spread via the Tied The Leader Blog and is then sometimes fortunate to use the catalyst B.net to propagate the message even further. Due to this latest wave of propaganda a fresh new class of recruits has come to TTL and the GGN looking for the ‘Good Game’. Last night delegates from across the GGN formed a unified party to show these recruits what it’s like to be a GGNer: Teamwork, communication, and selflessness. It was a rotating party of 17 gamers that adjusted on-the-fly to changing of party size, match making downtime, custom games, and special requests. Feats that have the potential to stress-out a common group of Xbox LIVE gamers but not a single complaint was uttered this night.

I would like to share with you the people that make this night such a enormous success:

The Recruits: JonOfTheD3ad – DeadEye8407 – oX Cold Fire Xo – Aelius – AmonOmega – Frogwart – Spartadre217

SSG: VoltRabbit – xCassiox – SSG TomaZero – SSG Burrito – SSG Jettstream – SSG CodeMonkey – DarkStrobeLight – SSG Jayman

SoF: Apollo Running – CrazedOne1988

TTL: TTL Eisen

CdG: Viktim Viktor

If I missed anyone I sorry!!!
Now I will take you all on a journey back to that night and show you some of the finer or funnier parts of “combat”.

Aelius & SSG TomaZero take the Falcon out for some Territories defense.

AmonOmega and Cassio are successful is bring a flag back to base.

JonOfTheD3ad brings us another flag to add to our total.

VoltRabbit is on his way to the top of the Spire.

VoltRabbit, JonOfTheD3ad, and DeadEye8407 have the Warthog on the offensve.

And now for the Mongoose Showdown! With the newly revived ‘Race’ gameplay mode from Halo: CE now in Halo: Reach we had the perfect opportunity to them out when Match making went down.

As I stated above ‘Good Games’ were had and if you see anyone of these people online, please invite them to your party. They are always welcome in mine.

MKH has become a cornerstone of SSG for the Halo faithful, much like it’s cousin WKW (Wednesday Knight Warfare) for the CoD veterans. Yesterday kicked off the first MKH since the launch (and fall) of Halo: Reach. While the first week was mostly spent With Knights trudging through the campaign either solo; soaking in all the details and storyline in this epic prequel, or commandeering other Knights to help battle the Covenant side-by-side through the skill-humbling Legendary difficulty.

8 SSGers prepare for battle.

Not to say that matchmaking didn’t get a workout before MKH, but Monday we showed up to play. With 16+ Knights and Apprentices in two different parties through-out the night, Good Games were had. A few network “difficulties” were not enough to stop these gamers from enjoying there next great battlefield.

If you weren’t able to partake in MKH, don’t fret, I have some screen shots to give you a taste of the action.

SSG Jayman mid-air with a grand vista behind him.

Knights collaborating to defend the base.

There can be only one team with a Falcon on our watch.

With their heads ablaze these two Spartans prepare for battle.

Our lovable Overlord, Whachamacalzmit, takes down a Red foe with a knife to the brain pan.

This Red was luck to move his head to the right just in time to avoid this headshot that might have saved that poor Knight from assassination.

This Spartan has his blue visor and is readying his DMR for combat.

And of course my new favorite pastime, Ghost destruction via Armor Lock.

So don’t miss out on the teamwork, fun, shenanigans ,and Good Games next week, look for a signup soon for the next MKH.

Our opponent decided to provide me a safe landing zone
We had a bit of trouble using vehicles to grab the flag, so we just walked it out.

Its that time again! With Reach around the corner I’d like to introduce to you what I call Mad Season, Almost everyone I know is awaiting the coming storm that is Halo: Reach. With that the stewards at Tied The Leader have introduced a Hardcore Search & Destroy Modern Warfare 2 Double Elimination Tournament.

Get Some!

This week alone we have quite a few challenges going down. With Team Alpha facing off against the H3 Wheelmen’s Helljumper Team in the Tournament, Team Echo versus Outcast Reborn’s Team Valto, And SSG’s The Bearded Clam Chowders VS Team Sikshot. Furthermore we have a 4v4 Halo Challenge Versus Fallen Unity this week and a BTB Challenge VS the H3 Wheelmen later in the month Talk about a full plate! Look Forward to writeups from each challenge match and event that comes down the pipeline its going to be a busy week as we defend the Castle and look towards the Knights to do their best in the tournament and events that come down.

Blame Odin

I end this update with a little something borrowed from Bungie.net call it a blame stosh, but here we blame Odin.

The Game Is Afoot!

Last night was another great night of Monday Knight Halo, our weekly clan event where anyone is welcome to come together and get in some good games of Halo 3 (soon to be Halo: Reach).  As Jayman already posted, last night we also got to play some games with our newest Knight, ApoclypseBurito.  Here’s a few pics and video clips from our fun last night.

SSG Strahotski gets caught between a wraith and warthog. Not even rockets will save you here.

ApoclypseBurito may have regretted his grenade placement…

SSG CodeMonkey has some problems driving...

SSG CodeMonkey got tired of SSG Jayman’s banshee antics…
